Forschungszentrum Jülich – PGI-9

The PGI-9 focuses on fundamental questions in semiconductor physics, photonics, topological materials, and superconductors. We grow novel materials via various deposition techniques, such as molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), and build devices for quantum computing and neuromorphic computing.

Role within QSolid

Within the QSolid project, PGI-9 provides high-quality thin films and MBE-grown superconducting quantum devices (such as resonators, Josephson junctions and SQUIDs) to enhance the performance of future superconducting quantum processing units.
