Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (HHU) – Institute for Theoretical Physics III

Research at Institute for Theoretical Physics III of Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf has been focusing on quantum information processing since 2004. The research group is composed of two permanent staff members (group leader Prof. Dr. Dagmar Bruβ and Dr. habil. Hermann Kampermann), post-docs, PhD students, Master and Bachelor students. The main expertise of the group is in entanglement theory, quantum resource theories, quantum cryptography, quantum repeaters, quantum networks, and noise estimation in encoded quantum systems.

Role within QSolid

Our mission is to investigate strategies in quantum error correction and detection to handle noise in quantum computers of different scales.

Our vision for QSolid

Scaling of quantum computing devices is highly non-trivial. Several fundamental problems need to be solved on this journey. We believe that our theoretical investigations help to make the quantum computer devices developed in QSolid scalable.
